2026 Alabama UPMA EAS of the Year
As you look back over the past year of challenges that you have overcome in the USPS, there must be some people that come to mind as contributing to that success. On the days or even weeks when your staffing was short everyday due to an illness or accident but someone within that 50-mile radius was able to share an RCA, PSE, or CCA with you, that made a positive difference. Even if it wasn’t an everyday fix, it allowed you or your supervisor to handle your normal duties and catch up for a day that you weren’t backing up the vacant craft position. There are SME’s, gatekeepers and peers that monitor list, or just “see something” and “say something” that allows you time to get training done, a report complete or some other required tasks prior to the noncompliance report coming out. There are also those “phone a friend” that share the overwhelming task that many office managers walk into every day and are just there to let you know that you are not alone. These people need celebrating for making a difference in USPS performance in communities, and in UPMA members successes through what they do locally and nationally. Those are the qualifications for Alabama UPMA EAS of the Year. Nominating that person who helped you out with your office, who has done great things with their office, like Job Fairs, developing their employees, or having a great 250th Birthday celebration, are local accomplishments. Signing members, supporting legislation for noncareer leave buy back, MSPS rights for all EAS or visiting Town Hall meetings are just a few national UPMA accomplishments. Take a few minutes and think about the “Thank You” that you are sending that fellow UPMA EAS by nominating them, it a great way to show appreciation for those going that extra mile.
